Paul and Judy Bruno of Old Princeton Road are announcing the engagement of their son, Steve Bruno, and Lauren Ashley Mackie, both of Struthers, Ohio.
Parents of the bride-to-be are Ronald and Patricia Mackie of Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
Miss Mackie went to Assumption Catholic Secondary School in Burlington. She is enrolled in Youngstown State University and is a Boardman Police Department dispatcher.
Her fiancé is an alumnus of Shenango High School and attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and works as a deputy for Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department and is a police officer for Millcreek Metro Parks.
The couple will wed at a 1:30 p.m. open ceremony May 1, 2010, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.
Invitations will be issued for the 7 p.m. reception at The Georgetown in Boardman.
