Timothy and Barbara Caughey of New Galilee are announcing the engagement and summer wedding plans for their daughter, Shawna, and Andrew Burk. The future groom is a son of Rick and Amy Burk of Mercer.
The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Mohawk High School. In 2001, she received a bachelor of science degree in education from Slippery Rock University and in 2006, earned her master of education degree in special education from Geneva College.
She is a second-grade teacher at Sharpsville Elementary.
Her fiancé is a 2001 graduate of Mercer High School and a 2006 alumnus of SRU with a bachelor of science in education. He is an educator in the Mercer area.
The ceremony will be July 26, 2008, at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Mahoningtown with a reception following at Mary, Mother of Hope Parish Hall in New Castle.
