Shelton and Phyllis Ezzell of Goldsboro, N.C., are announcing the engagement and wedding plans of their daughter, Cortnie Carol Branch, and Rocky Lee Barnes. Both are of Goldsboro. He is a son of R. Dean and Roxann Passerrello Barnes, also of Goldsboro.

The prospective groom is a grandson of Claudette Hedglin of Pulaski and the late Michael G. Passerrello Jr., as well as the late Martin and Rose Spanish, his great-grandparents.

The future bride is a 2001 graduate of Ayden-Grifton High School and is a student, attending Wayne Community College studying accounting.

Her fiancé is a 1999 graduate of Rosewood High School in Goldsboro. He attended Wayne Community College for its machining curriculum and is a truck driver for Pete Dawson Co.

The couple will wed at 4 p.m. Oct. 4, 2008, at Rosewood First Baptist Church in Goldsboro.
