Man reports being robbed on East Side
New Castle police are investigating a report of robbery on Arlington Avenue. A 24-year-old man told police he had been in the 800 block, walking to a friend’s house, around 12:50 a.m. Saturday, when he was jumped by a man who stole his wallet and cell phone.

Men riding four-wheelers help catch burglar suspects
Two men on four-wheelers helped New Castle police catch two Remacor burglary suspects. Brian John Scott, 26, and Charles John Mulroy II, 32, both of New Galilee, are accused of breaking in through a hole in Remacor’s fence to steal about 200 feet of wiring, phone line and pipe around 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

Ellwood City club receives citation
An Ellwood City club has been cited for gambling activities. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited the Ellwood City Saxon Club at 901 Millview St.

Police arrest South Side burglar suspects
A South Side man and a male juvenile are facing charges for allegedly trying to break into two houses. New Castle police reported the incidents occurred around lunchtime Tuesday.

Three city residents admit to drug ring role
Nearly two years ago, eight people accused in an oxycodone ring with New Castle ties were arrested. This week, three of them pleaded guilty in federal court to charges of violating federal drug laws.

Skyview resident accused of burglary
A Skyview Towers resident is facing charges for allegedly burglarizing another apartment in the building. Police arrested James R. Napolitano, 52, after finding him in a stairwell, bleeding from a cut above his eye around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Man reported dead still alive
Joseph Lupo, who was shot Sunday night, did not die, according to state police, who initially said he had. In an update provided about 7:30 p.m. yesterday, police said the hospital has reported Lupo has been upgraded to critical condition.

Suspect leads police on East Side chase
A Shenango Township man is accused of fleeing New Castle police Sunday night and leading them on a pursuit. The chase ended in Shenango Township when officers lost sight of his car. Colby James Marshall, 21, of 5213 Ellwood Road, is now wanted on a warrant. New Castle police filed 25 charges against Marshall yesterday.

Fire destroys mobile home
A mobile home in Slippery Rock Township was destroyed in a fire Monday morning. No injuries were reported in the blaze that broke out around 6:30 a.m. at 1520 Young Road.

Police: Man dies after husband, wife shoot each other
A man was killed and his wife wounded in a domestic shooting incident last night in Mahoning Township. State police said Caroline Lupo, 50, was shot in the abdomen and leg and Joseph Lupo, 50, was shot in the head with a .45 caliber handgun.
