SHENANGO TOWNSHIP
•Retail theft. Police issued a citation to Jordan Callahan, 20, after he was allegedly observed taking $17.36 worth of merchandise at Kmart about 2 p.m. Friday.
•Theft. Someone took a 2005 Yamaha YFZ450 racing quad from a Rainey Avenue home Friday night or Saturday morning.
•Accident. Police said Stephen Searock, 26, was traveling south on East Washington Street near Cascade Street about 12:40 p.m. Saturday when he moved into the opposite lane and struck another vehicle. Police arrested Searock on charges of driving under the influence.
UNION TOWNSHIP
•Accident. Police said Donna Herr, 74, of 206 Robinson St., Edinburg, was traveling east on West State Street about 3:40 p.m. Friday when she struck a vehicle operated by Veronica Allison, 44, of Youngstown, and a parked PennDOT vehicle. Herr told police her car went out of control and she could not stop it. Police found her vehicle in the grass along the ramp leading to I-376 East. Officers said Allison suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to a hospital.
•Accident. Police said Reynold White, 54, of 37 King Ave. struck a tree on King Avenue near his home about 6:25 p.m. Friday. Investigating officers said King was intoxicated and was arrested for driving under the influence. He was taken to Jameson Hospital for unknown injuries.
•Accident. Three vehicles were involved in a collision at 11:08 a.m. Saturday on West State Street near Upper Idlewild Drive. Officers said Jacqueline R. Hannon, 74, of 1022 Cunningham Ave., was traveling west on State Street when she struck the rear of an auto operated by Beth Heath, 49, of 707 Hazen St., which was stopped for traffic. Heath’s vehicle in turn struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Howard Kidd Jr., 72, of 560 State Route 168, New Galilee, which was attempting a turn. There were no injuries reported.
NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP
•Retail theft. Police said three teenagers and a woman entered Family Dollar at 1702 Wilmington Road at 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Officers said one teen took pajamas pants and a bottle of perfume, another took a white T-shirt and bandana. Officers were told the four then left in a red, beat-up and rusty car driven by another woman.
STATE
•Charged. Police charged Richard Thomas Hogue of Enon Valley with simple assault after he allegedly punched someone in the face. Officers said the incident took place about 5 p.m. Nov. 4 in the victim’s Beaver Dam Road mobile home in Little Beaver Township.
•Criminal mischief. Police said a mailbox in the 4300 block of Ellwood Road was damaged between Friday and Saturday.
•Accident. Police said Lakeisha M. Wiley, 40, of Waldorf, Md., was westbound on I-376 in Union Township about 3 p.m. Friday when she stopped for a deer on the road and was struck Richard A. Ament, 40, of Monroeville. Officers said neither driver reported injuries but a passenger in Wiley’s vehicle reported a minor injury.
•Charged. Police cited Alex Hohbach of Wampum for attempted burglary after he allegedly tried to kick open the door of a house in the 300 block of Main Street, Wampum, at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday. Police said Hohbach later broke windows of the victim’s house. He was apprehended at his residence.
•Burglary. Police said two magnetic drills, valued at $675, were taken from Omni Precast Products Inc. on Industrial Park Drive, New Beaver Borough, between 4:45 p.m. Wednesday and 7:20 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at (724) 598-2211.

Jail gets third bomb threat
The Lawrence County jail received a bomb threat about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday — the third since Saturday. Prison board chairman David Gettings noted the caller said the same thing as the previous two times, that he was going to “come and blow the place up.”

Divers fish stolen truck from river
A stolen truck was fished out of the Mahoning River following a tip from a fisherman. North Beaver Township police and volunteer fire department, the New Castle Fire Department dive team and Brandon Rishel of the Lawrence County Dive Team were called in after a fisherman had seen a submerged vehicle Monday.

Man accused in rock beating
A New Castle man is accused of beating another man with a rock in an elevator. Police have charged David Joseph Perrine, 29, with aggravated assault in connection with the incident, which occurred around 8 p.m. June 12 in an apartment building on Wallace Avenue.

Teen to get mental health evaluation
A 17-year-old who threatened suicide has been taken into custody by Neshannock Township police. Officers were called at 2 p.m. June 12. The teen’s mother told officers her son had a handgun and was “really acting up.”

Teen arrested after demanding car keys
A teenager who demanded a couple turn over their car to him is now in police custody. Neshannock Township police said a 17-year-old New Castle resident entered a home in Lightner Place at 4 a.m. Saturday and demanded the keys to a vehicle parked in the driveway.

Jail gets second bomb threat
For the second time in four days, the Lawrence County jail received a bomb threat. New Castle fire and police departments were summoned just after noon Tuesday and stood guard while the jail was searched.

Robbery charges withdrawn
Charges against Justin Anthony Barry, who was accused in a robbery, have been withdrawn. New Castle police had arrested Barry, 25, of Apt. F, 1214 Highland Ave., earlier this month and charged him with robbery, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, theft and receiving stolen property.

Three more plead guilty in oxycodone ring
Three more New Castle residents pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating the federal drug laws.
Christopher Klingensmith, 38, of Vine Street, James Cracraft, 39, of Randolph Street and Thomas Klingensmith Jr., 40, of Bellair Drive, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy before U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab.
U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton made the announcement Tuesday. -
South Side man faces gun, drug charges
A South Side man was arrested on gun and drug charges following a traffic stop on the city’s North Hill. Martel Lamar Webb, 19, of 199 Hamilton St. had been wanted by police on charges in a domestic assault case in May when police caught up with him.

Woman charged for assaulting 1-year-old
A New Castle woman was arrested and charged with the assault of a year-old child in Scott Township. Nicole Martin, 26, of New Castle was arraigned before District Judge David Rishel on a charge of simple assault. She was lodged in the Lawrence County jail on $1,000 bond.
