Police

NEW CASTLE


•Burglary. A laptop computer valued at $3,000, a flat-screen television, a PlayStation 3 and a Pittsburgh Penguins watch were taken and bedroom drawers ransacked at a house in the 400 block of Lyndall Street between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday.

•Theft. Copper was taken from the basement of a house in the 900 block of Marshall Avenue before 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP

•Theft. At 6:30 p.m. Sunday, police apprehended a 12-year-old in possession of items apparently taken from Family Dollar on Wilmington Road. Police said items were returned to the store and the juvenile was released to his father and charged. Police said additional charges will be filed against the boy, who was identified by video as being involved in a crime Sept. 29. Officers said his identity had been unknown until now.

New Castle police charged the following people:

•Jason Paul Jenista, 31, of New Castle, defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Steven James Nail, 40, of New Castle, two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of driving with license suspended, restrictions on alcoholic beverages and driving with no rear lights.

•Erin Griggle, 43, of Ellwood City, charged by Ellwood City police with public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Max A. Rossi, 46, of Ellwood City, charged by municipal code enforcement with violation of borough ordinance.

Jennifer L. Nicholson

•Rick Taylor Burkes II, 18, of New Castle, charged by New Castle police with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

Union Township police charged the following people:

•Kevin John Gilmore, 38, of Edinburg, burglary, theft by unlawful taking, criminal trespass and theft by deception.

•Jason T. Betker, 29, of New Castle, retail theft, theft by unlawful taking and disorderly conduct.

•Brian A. Kent, 22, of New Galilee, theft by unlawful taking and disorderly conduct.

 Scott A. McGrath

•Amy Kathleen Shannon, 44, of New Castle, charged by state police with four counts of disorderly conduct, two counts of defiant trespass and one count each of harassment, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without valid inspection.
