Police arrest naked prowling suspect

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police have arrested a Lower East Side man for allegedly breaking into a garage in the nude.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Neal Street just before midnight Monday, where a neighbor said he had heard a noise inside his garage. He went to investigate and saw a man wearing no clothes running from the garage.

The caller said the naked prowler, later identified as Mark Anthony Quear, 24, of 118 N. Crawford Ave., then entered the front screened-in porch of another house and was lying inside the porch. Police found Quear sitting inside a stairwell.

He is charged with criminal trespass, indecent exposure, loitering and prowling at night, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

He was given an orange jail suit to wear for his arraignment before District Judge Melissa A. Amodie, who committed him to the Lawrence County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
