No injuries reported when car hits pole

NEW CASTLE — No injuries were reported when a car hit and sheared off a utility pole on Long Avenue.

New Castle police reported Melissa Marie Ashour, 32, of 433 E. Long Ave. struck the pole around 2:30 a.m. April 24 and it was lying across Long Avenue when the officer arrived.

Neighbors said Ashour got out of her car and went into her house after the accident.

She was taken to Jameson Hospital for a blood alcohol test. Police said charges are pending the results.
