•Burglary. Someone broke a window at First United Brethren Church, 1900 Eastbrook Road, Hickory Township on Oct. 13.
•Accident. A car driven by Kelley J. Pierce, 26, of Butler was stopped on Route 65 near Ambrose Lane in Slippery Rock Township for a school bus stop about 4:30 p.m. Monday when Pierce observed a pickup truck approaching her from behind at a high speed, police said. Pierce told police she tried to avoid a collision and swerved off the roadway and entered a ditch on the west edge. Upon entering the ditch, the front right portion of her 2003 Chevrolet Malibu struck the wall off the ditch. Pierce was not injured, police said.

BEAVER COUNTY
•Accident. The vehicle of Shane A. Bixler, 35, of New Castle was not severely damaged after he was struck by a 2002 Dodge Dakota on Route 18 in Big Beaver Borough near the Pennsylvania Turnpike about 6:30 a.m. Monday. Police said Benjamin J. Black, 46, of Beaver Falls will be cited for following too closely. According to police, Black pulled onto Route 18 without stopping at a stop sign, causing Bixler to slow his Ford F450. Black’s vehicle then struck the rear of Bixler’s vehicle. Black had minor injuries,cs and three passengers in Bixler’s vehicle were not injured, police said.
