•Aggravated assault. Troopers arrived at an Enon Valley residence at 12:03 p.m. Sept. 28 to assist Lawrence County Children and Youth Services personnel. A woman at the home brandished an aluminum baseball bat at the officers when she became agitated. She then used her 6-year-old child as a shield when the officers threatened to Taser her. The woman was ultimately subdued. She was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.
•Liquor law violation. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the Polish Falcons, 105 W. Miller St., alleging that on five ocassions this year, funds derived from the operation of games of chance were used for purposes other than those authorized by law. The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge.
•Liquor law violation. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Swihart’s Harbor Lounge, 2221 Ben Franklin Highway, Union Township, alleging that on three occasions this year the business issued checks or drafts in payment for purchases of malt or brewed beverages with insufficient funds to cover the checks. The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge.
•Attempted theft. Police said that at 7:04 p.m. Friday, Vince Lepiane, 18, of Enon Valley attemped to remove $30 from the purse of an Enon Valley woman who interrupted him, forcing him to flee without the cash. He later was found in possession of a bottle of vodka. Police said a charge of attempt to commit theft and a summary charge of possession of liquor by a minor were filed against Lepiane before District Judge Jerry G. Cartwright Jr.
