STATE

•Retail theft. Dorothy Sue Myers, 26, of New Castle was charged with felony retail theft (third offense) after police were told she was stealing socks valued at $10.97 from Shop ’n Save, 2016 W. State St., Union Township, at 6:50 p.m. Friday. After arraignment, she was placed in Lawrence County jail on $1,000 bond.

•Burglary. A Nye Road, Perry Township, residence was broken into between 7 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. Friday. Various items were reported stolen. No dollar amount was provided.

•Criminal mischief. Obscene language was painted Sept. 28 on the outside of the Johnson Club Inc., 2392 Churchill Road, Hillsville. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call state police at (724) 598-2211.

•Cruelty to animals. Police said Patricia Sobun, 57, of 1712 Route 351, Enon Valley, will be charged with three counts of cruelty to animals. Troopers, while assisting the U.S. Marshals Service in a fugitive search at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, appeared at Sobun’s residence looking for a fugitive. While there, they observed emaciated cows and goats tied to trees and without access to shelter, food or water. Police said many of the animals were in need of immediate veterinary care.

•Fugitive. Dameion Lamar Armour, 37, of 524 Mabel St., Youngstown, was taken into custody on a fugitive warrant at 7:06 p.m. Sunday at a Wilmington Township business. He was placed in Lawrence County jail on $5,000 bond.

•Arrest. Police said Debbie Rae Knight of Twentier Lane, Portersville, was arrested for driving under the influence after being stopped for speeing at 8:07 p.m. Friday om Fountain Avenue in Ellwood City.
