Motorcyclist hurt in truck collision

NEW CASTLE — An Ellwood City motorcyclist was injured when his vehicle hit a truck.

Kyle Edward Young is listed in fair condition at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after being taken there by helicopter.

Shenango Township police said the accident occurred at 8:20 p.m. Thursday on Ellwood Road near Douglas Drive.

Officers said they were told by witnesses that two motorcycles had been traveling on Ellwood Road at speeds up to 100 mph, passing vehicles.

A truck, operated by Patrick Lloyd Meister of Ellwood City was making a left turn into a driveway when his vehicle was hit broadside by Young’s motorcycle, according to police.
