NEW CASTLE


•Theft. Someone stole climbing spurs and belt, a hand saw, climbing rope, climbing hand lines and a trimming saw from two Asplundh trucks parked on Industrial Street in West Pittsburg. The theft occurred between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Monday near the former Remacor plant.

ELLWOOD CITY

•Accident. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Fifth Street at Lawrence Avenue about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. Officers said she refused treatment and walked away.

•Jonathan Paul Hedland, 25, of New Castle, charged by Union Township police with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Scott John Cartwright, 32, of New Castle, charged by state police with two counts of driving under the influence.

•Mark Robert Bacon, 33, of Ellwood City, charged by state police with two counts of endangering the welfare of children and one count each of intent to possess a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, blood alcohol content 0.02 or greater/second offense, habitual offender, driving without a license, driving while operating privileges suspended or revoked, failure to keep right, disregarding traffic lane, careless driving, improper child restraint system and failure to use safety belt.

Ellwood City police charged the following people:

•Douglas E. Evans, 59, of Ellwood City, driving under the influence.

•Thomas Stofen, 18, of New Brighton, purchase of an alcoholic beverage by a minor.

•Matthew Robert Marsano, 29, of Ellwood City, two counts of receiving stolen property, 17 counts of conspiracy and one count of unauthorized act in writing.

•Aaron Abram, 27, of Ellwood City, simple assault and harassment.

•Christina Wolfe, 36, of New Brighton, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•David Richard Broge, 46, of Ellwood City, three counts each of forgery, access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property and 12 counts of conspiracy.

New Castle’s code enforcement department charged the following people:

•SWP of New Castle, failure to cut weeds or grass.

•Big Boy Properties of New Castle, failure to cut weeds or grass.

•Thomas E. Tate of New Castle, sidewalks and driveways violation, prohibited use violation, sanitation of exterior property areas violation and failure to cut weeds or grass.

•Clarence Chambers, 37, of New Castle, sanitation of exterior property areas violation and failure to cut weeds or grass.

•Christy Bryant of New Castle, failure to cut weeds or grass and accumulation of garage or rubbish.

•Jack Hogan of Mammoth Lake, Calif., failure to cut weeds or grass.

•Claudette M. Hogan of Mammoth Lake, Calif., failure to cut weeds or grass.
