On the Record: Today’s police reports from around the county

•Accident. Police said Evelyn J. Galinac, 70, of Mayfield Village, Ohio, westbound on Skyhill Road, Mahoning Township, at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left curve. She left the road, traveled behind and struck the back of guide rails along the highway. The impact caused her vehicle to roll onto its roof. Police said minor injury was reported and she was treated at Jameson Hospital. Police were assisted by the Mahoning Township Volunteer Fire Department.

•Accident. Police said Tracy M. Goudas, 37, of Ellwood City, eastbound on Frew Mill Road, Slippery Rock Township, at 10 a.m. Sunday, lost control on a curve and began sliding. The vehicle struck a guide rail, which caused the car to spin. Police said Goudas was taken to Allegheny General Hospital. Police were assisted at the scene by the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Department.


•Accident. Michael S. Blaskewicz of 724 Chestnut St., told police he was distracted by a baby crying in the back seat of his car as he turned from Mercer Road into Pearson Park about 3 p.m. Monday. He said he turned around to check on the baby and struck the stone flower monument at the park entrance. Police said no injuries were reported and the car was towed.


•Hit-and-run. Police said a black pick-up truck hit the back of a car stopped at the intersection of Court and Pine streets at 12:13 p.m. Tuesday, then fled before police arrived. The woman whose car was hit said she had been stopped at the intersection when she was hit from behind by the truck. She said the driver fled when she informed him she was calling police. No injuries were reported.
