Man accused in rock beating

NEW CASTLE — A New Castle man is accused of beating another man with a rock in an elevator.

Police have charged David Joseph Perrine, 29, with aggravated assault in connection with the incident, which occurred around 8 p.m. June 12 in an apartment building on Wallace Avenue.

A woman reported that Perrine had beaten her boyfriend with a rock, then left the building. Police retrieved a bloody rock from the scene.

The victim was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

A warrant has been issued for Perrine’s arrest.
