Criminal charges dropped after plea

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police have dropped criminal charges against a man in exchange for a summary plea.

David DeSalvo, 47, was initially charged with burglary and criminal trespass for an incident that occurred March 11.

According to city police and Lawrence County Central Court records, DeSalvo agreed to plead guilty to a summary offense of defiant trespass.

A citation for that offense was filed Wednesday in the court of District Judge Melissa Amodie, for the same incident.
