New Castle police charged the following people:

•Kristin A. Sipe, 18, of New Castle, retail theft, resisting arrest and use/ possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Lilton E. Morris Jr., 40, of New Castle, access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Lamar William Madison, 25, of New Castle, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

•Kimberly A. Lombardo, 45, of New Castle, obstructing the administration of law or other government functions, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct.

•Josiah Wallace Beck, 35, of Ellwood City, robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, simple assault and harassment.

•Timinee L. McCue, 22, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Jeffrey David Hooks Jr., 28, of New Castle, burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

•Jeffrey Leon Norris Jr., 38, of Ellwood City, charged by Union Township police with retail theft and driving with license suspended.

•Ronald Pace-Lockhart, 22, of Lambert, Miss., charged by New Castle police with defiant trespass and possession of marijuana.

•Diondre Q. Calhoun, 20, of New Castle, charged by New Castle police with simple assault and harassment.

•Eric John Moscipan, 20, of Wampum, retail theft.

•Jordan Burdell Lyles, 21, of New Castle, retail theft.

•Stephanie Ann Blews-West, 36, of New Castle, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Shenango Township police charged the following people:

•Christopher R. Fiello, 39, of New Castle, two counts each of driving under the influence and accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property and one count each of careless driving and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Bronson T. Booher, 20, of New Castle, three counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of marijuana.

•Justina Nicole Kaldy, 18, of New Wilmington, retail theft.

•Robert Charles Swaney, 73, of Volant, charged by state police with two counts of aggravated indecent assault without consent and one charge of indecent assault without consent.

•Samuel William Huff, 41, of West Middlesex, charged by dog law enforcement with pet confinement and control violation.

•James Arnold Caszatt, 36, of New Bedford, charged by Pulaski Township police with two counts each of driving under the influence and use/possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a weapon on school property.

•Stacy Lynn Stotts, 49, of Pulaski, charged by the Lawrence County district attorney with two counts each of failure to keep dog licensed, failure to have dog or cat vaccinated and failure to apply for dog license.

Ellwood City police charged the following people:

•Andrew J. Sankey, 27, of Ellwood City, two counts of driving under the influence.

•David Keith Prinkey, 49, of Ellwood City, four counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault and one count each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and sexual assault.

    Police claim a woman’s texting on a cell phone contributed to a fatal accident earlier this month in Hickory Township. Laura E. Gargiulo, 42, of 2662 State Route 956, Volant, faces homicide by vehicle and other charges in connection with the May 7 death of Daniel E. Gallatin of Scott Township.

    A woman involved in a fatal accident in Hickory Township has been charged. Laura E. Gargiulo, 42, of 2662 State Route 956, Volant, faces charges of homicide by vehicle and others in the crash that led to the death of Daniel E. Gallatin of Scott Township.

    A Pittsburgh man has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly breaking another man’s jaw in New Wilmington. Matthew Vincent Wagner, 22, was charged by New Wilmington police as the result of an incident early May 5 at the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity house on Waugh Avenue.

    New Castle police are investigating a robbery on the South Side. A 22-year-old woman told police she had been walking in the alley between Hamilton Street and Pennsylvania Avenue around 3:30 a.m. May 8 when someone grabbed her from behind and punched her numerous times in the left side of her face.

    New Castle police are investigating a report of robbery on Arlington Avenue. A 24-year-old man told police he had been in the 800 block, walking to a friend’s house, around 12:50 a.m. Saturday, when he was jumped by a man who stole his wallet and cell phone.

  • police.jpg Men riding four-wheelers help catch burglar suspects

    Two men on four-wheelers helped New Castle police catch two Remacor burglary suspects. Brian John Scott, 26, and Charles John Mulroy II, 32, both of New Galilee, are accused of breaking in through a hole in Remacor’s fence to steal about 200 feet of wiring, phone line and pipe around 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

    An Ellwood City club has been cited for gambling activities. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited the Ellwood City Saxon Club at 901 Millview St.

    A South Side man and a male juvenile are facing charges for allegedly trying to break into two houses. New Castle police reported the incidents occurred around lunchtime Tuesday.

Yes. If it’s a more efficient way to run the jail, I’m all for it.
No. I think there would be too many questions of liability for the county.
