New Castle man critical after crash

NEW CASTLE — A New Castle man is in critical condition in Pittsburgh’s Allegheny General Hospital with injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

Alan S. Valentic, 51, was hurt Sunday evening in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County.

State police said Valentic had been traveling on the on ramp to Route 19 from Route 422 eastbound and failed to negotiate a left hand curve. The motorcycle went off the travel lanes and onto some loose gravel on the berm, causing him to lose control.

The motorcycle slid on its left side, hit a traffic sign and traveled up a small embankment that caused Valentic to fly off the vehicle, police said. Valentic and the motorcycle came to rest on the embankment.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
