NEW CASTLE —
•Retail theft. Police charged Patricia Favorite, 64, of 1247 Old State Road, after she was accused of taking three cans of beer from the Giant Eagle on New Butler Road Sunday.
•Driving under the influence. Police said they stopped Edwin Amos Koch, 49, of New Castle at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Croton Avenue and Mill Street and arrested him for driving under the influence of alcohol.
•Theft. Someone broke into a vehicle parked in the 1600 block of Katherine Street about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and took a Gateway M285-e Notebook in a black bag and several articles of clothing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Neshannock Township police at (724) 656-9300.
•Accident. Police said John Brindle, 51, of 3315 Clover Lane was traveling north on Wilmington Road at about 10 p.m. Sept. 27 when he collided with a stopped vehicle at the light in front of Giant Eagle. Officers said they detected the odor of alcohol on him but he refused a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
•Theft. Someone took a stereo from a car at a house on Falls Avenue Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. The Alpine stereo was valued at $120.
