SHENANGO TOWNSHIP
•Theft. A red and gray Yamaha Raptor 250 ATV was removed from a storage shed on Allegheny Avenue at 3 a.m. Saturday. The shed was entered by prying a door open.
•Accident. Police responded to an ATV accident about 11 a.m. Saturday on Old Chewton Road. Officers said four ATVs were traveling in line, when one stopped and another collided with it. A third vehicle then struck the rear of the second, causing the operator of the second ATV, Junior Cox, 43, of Clarks Mills to be ejected. Police said he suffered moderate injuries when he landed on the road. Two of the ATV operators fled, police said, leaving Cox to be tended to by others. He was later transported to Jameson Hospital.
•Underage drinking. Police said they cited Derek S. Douglas, 19, of Darlington and Sean J. Bryson, 19, of Beaver Falls for underage drinking after they were found in a wooded section of Shenango Park off Ellwood Road. Police also charged Brandon M. Lilly, 24, of Beaver Falls with furnishing alcohol to minors.
•Scam. Police said they are investigating a quick-change scam that occurred at a business on Route 422 Thursday.
STATE
•Sexual assault. Police said a 27-year-old female reported being sexually assaulted on Barkley Road, Perry Township, Monday.
•Accident. Police said Christopher D. Fink, 40, of Youngstown, was traveling on Erie Street in Mahoning Township when he lost control of his car, apparently because of brake failure. Officers said he deliberately collided with a tree to stop the vehicle. Police said Fink will be charged with several equipment and moving violations as a result of the incident, which occurred about 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
•Theft from vehicle. Police said someone rummaged through two cars parked inside the garage of a West State Street home and one vehicle parked outside that house before 5:20 a.m. Sept. 12. Police said money was taken from one of the vehicles.
•Theft. A four-foot-six-inch statue of an Indian was taken from the porch of a Mount Herman Church Road resident in Slippery Rock Township. It was located on the porch of a Princeton Station Road house. The statue was reported missing and recovered between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday.
NEW CASTLE
•Assault. Police said they will charge Jeffrey Joynson with simple assault and harassment following a disturbance in the 1200 block of Randolph Street about 10:50 p.m. Monday.
•Charged. Police said they found Carmen Maria Farris, 53, of Mitchell Road, trying to enter a residence at 112 N. Crawford Ave. at 10:40 p.m. Sunday. She was charged with loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness.
•Domestic violence. Police said Edward R. Nikoden, 45, of 1128 S. Mill St. will be charged with simple assault and harassment. Officers said Nikoden was found passed out on the living room floor of his home about 12:20 a.m. Sunday. The victim told police the two had argued and when he punched her in the face she hit him over the head with a plate and knocked him out. Police said the victim was bruised and bleeding from the face and had bruises on her left arm.
•Charged. Tristan N. Morgan, 27, of Detroit, was charged with criminal trespass, simple assault, public drunkenness and criminal mischief. Police were told Morgan entered an apartment at Crestview Gardens about 10:30 p.m. Friday and confronted the resident, who told him to leave. She told police that during the confrontation, Morgan fell onto her coffee table, damaging it. Police said they saw bruises on the victim’s arms.
•Theft. Angela Kirkland, 44, of McGrath Manor, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after police were told she took a purse, containing rent money, from another McGrath Manor resident. Officers said the incident took place at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
•Gunshots heard. A police officer responding to a call said he heard approximately 10 gunshots in the area of Oak and Whippo streets about 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
•Burglary. Police said a resident of the 400 block of Boyles Avenue reported hearing noises downstairs in his home about 6:30 a.m. Thursday and confronted a man in his living room. Police were told the intruder fled after the confrontation. Officers said the back door had been damaged.
•Theft. An iPod, valued at $200, was taken from a vehicle in the 200 block of West Lincoln Avenue between 7 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Friday.
•Criminal mischief. Police said two vehicles on Robinson Street were keyed before 10 a.m. Friday.
•Theft. An engagement ring valued at $4,900 was reported missing at Progressive Ballfield in Mahoningtown between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Friday.
•Burglary. A jar filled with coins and four coffee cups filled with state quarters were taken from a house in the 1300 block of Wilmington Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and noon Saturday.
•Criminal mischief. Someone cut a tire of a car parked in the 200 block of East Hillcrest Avenue about 8 p.m. Saturday.
•Theft. Two bicycles — one red and black, the other pink, white and purple — were taken from the porch of a house in the 100 block of East Sheridan Avenue before 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
•Criminal mischief. Police said someone wrote on a vehicle parked in the 100 block of East Meyer Avenue and wrote on and threw eggs at a vehicle in the 200 block of East Meyer Avenue between 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
•Theft from vehicle. An estimated $300 was reported taken from a wallet left in a vehicle in the 100 block of Sheridan Avenue between 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
•Theft. An outdoor power meter, valued at $100, was taken from a house in the 1600 block of Hamilton Street between 2 p.m. Sept. 3 and 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police: texting led to fatal accident
Police claim a woman’s texting on a cell phone contributed to a fatal accident earlier this month in Hickory Township. Laura E. Gargiulo, 42, of 2662 State Route 956, Volant, faces homicide by vehicle and other charges in connection with the May 7 death of Daniel E. Gallatin of Scott Township.

Hillsville man dead following shooting
A Mahoning Township man involved in a weekend shooting has died. Joseph Lupo, 50, of 4812 W. Main St. in Hillsville was pronounced dead Thursday by the Mahoning County, Ohio, coroner’s office.

Woman charged in fatal accident
A woman involved in a fatal accident in Hickory Township has been charged. Laura E. Gargiulo, 42, of 2662 State Route 956, Volant, faces charges of homicide by vehicle and others in the crash that led to the death of Daniel E. Gallatin of Scott Township.

Broken jaw leads to assault charge
A Pittsburgh man has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly breaking another man’s jaw in New Wilmington. Matthew Vincent Wagner, 22, was charged by New Wilmington police as the result of an incident early May 5 at the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity house on Waugh Avenue.

South Side robbery being probed
New Castle police are investigating a robbery on the South Side. A 22-year-old woman told police she had been walking in the alley between Hamilton Street and Pennsylvania Avenue around 3:30 a.m. May 8 when someone grabbed her from behind and punched her numerous times in the left side of her face.

Man reports being robbed on East Side
New Castle police are investigating a report of robbery on Arlington Avenue. A 24-year-old man told police he had been in the 800 block, walking to a friend’s house, around 12:50 a.m. Saturday, when he was jumped by a man who stole his wallet and cell phone.

Men riding four-wheelers help catch burglar suspects
Two men on four-wheelers helped New Castle police catch two Remacor burglary suspects. Brian John Scott, 26, and Charles John Mulroy II, 32, both of New Galilee, are accused of breaking in through a hole in Remacor’s fence to steal about 200 feet of wiring, phone line and pipe around 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

Ellwood City club receives citation
An Ellwood City club has been cited for gambling activities. The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited the Ellwood City Saxon Club at 901 Millview St.

Police arrest South Side burglar suspects
A South Side man and a male juvenile are facing charges for allegedly trying to break into two houses. New Castle police reported the incidents occurred around lunchtime Tuesday.
