•Accident. Police said Keith A. Claiborne, 27, of Farrell, was westbound on Interstate 376 in Neshannock Township about 6:30 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his car as he passed a slower-moving vehicle on the snow-covered road. Officers said Claiborne’s car ran off the road and struck a traffic sign and guiderail. No injuries were reported. He was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
•Accident. Police said Helen E. Vensel, 64, of Bruin, Pa., was on Portersville Road, Perry Township at 1 p.m. Saturday and lost control of her vehicle, which left the road and struck a tree. No injuries were reported. Vensel was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
•Accident. Police said Benjamin J. Davis, 36, of Ellwood City, was traveling on Old State Road, Slippery Rock Township at 5 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle, left the road and struck a tree. No injuries were reported to Davis or his two passengers. He was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
•Burglary. Lombardo’s Apothecary, 1230 S. Mill St., appeared to have been broken into between 6:45 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Officers located a hammer, garden claw, sweatshirt and work gloves that appeared to have been discarded by the intruder. Officers said nothing appeared to have been taken.
•Trespassing. Julian Jackson, 25, of West Home Street, was charged with defiant trespass on Lawrence County Housing Authority property at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Steinbrink Place. Police said Jackson is on the authority’s “no trespassing” list.
•Criminal mischief. Michelle Sawyer, 47, of New Castle, was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and scattering rubbish when she discarded police paperwork informing her not to trespass at Skyview Towers at 7:15 p.m. Friday.
•Hit-and-run. A man told police a white, GMC Envoy struck his pickup truck about noon Sunday when he slowed on East Washington Street. The victim said the Envoy then pulled through a parking lot, exiting onto Lathrop Street. The victim said he followed the Envoy to Route 422. Shenango police, notified by city officers, stopped a vehicle matching that description, eastbound on Route 422. Police said the driver, Rodney Freed, 50, of 1602 Huron Ave., admitted to hitting the pickup truck and leaving the scene. He was charged with involvement in an accident involving damage to a vehicle, failing to stop and provide information or render aid, following too closely and driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked.
•Hit-and-run. Police said a red vehicle hit a car parked in the 600 block of Logan Avenue between 8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. Friday. Officers said the driver’s side and side view mirror of the parked car were damaged.
•Charged. Christopher Wade, 21, of 1601 S. Jefferson St., was charged with simple assault and harassment after allegedly striking someone in a home on south Jefferson Street about 11:45 p.m. Sunday.
