Police

NEW CASTLE

•Hit-and-run accident. Police said an SUV, unknown make and model, was traveling west on Fairfield Avenue and hit a 2003 Toyota Corolla that was parked in the 300 block and immediately left the scene at 10:35 p.m. Friday. The Corolla sustained moderate front-end damage.

•Hit-and-run accident. Police said a New Castle Transit Authority bus was facing north at the intersection of Crawford and Croton avenues at 2:50 p.m. Thursday when a maroon Cadillac sedan traveling east on Croton attempted to make a right turn onto Crawford and hit the left side of the bus’ front bumper. The Cadillac backed up and continued south on Crawford Avenue. No one on the bus was injured, and the bus was fully operational.

•Criminal mischief. Vulgarities were scratched on all sides of a 2008 Chevrolet truck and 1989 Oldsmobile that were parked in the 100 block of Chartes Street, sometime between 9 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. Oct. 11.

NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP

•Burglary. Someone broke a small pane of glass to unlock a door to a Wilmington Road residence and stole a flat-screen TV and change, sometime between Oct. 11 and 12.

•Burglary. Police discovered a window was broken at Middle Cross Church of the Nazarene, 2009 N. Mercer St., and that numerous items were stolen from the church at 12:35 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call the Neshannock police at (724) 656-9300.

•Retail theft. Two juveniles were cited and released to their parents after they were caught stealing several tobacco products from Giant Eagle on Wilmington Road at 7:40 p.m. Thursday.

STATE

•Retail theft. Police said a known male pumped $20.01 of gas into his vehicle at the Kwik Fill station, 2785 W. State St., at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and told the clerk he lost his wallet. He left his name and a phone number and said he would return to pay for the gas and didn’t.
