NEW CASTLE
•Criminal mischief. A motorcycle was pushed over and damaged at a West Washington Street home. The bike was one of two motorcycles the owner had covered with a tarp. Damage to the 1992 Yamaha FZR600 included a crack to its engine casing and scratches. The discovery was reported Oct. 8.
•Burglary. Police said someone entered the home of a Huron Avenue resident Sunday and took several items including a computer, computer hardware, software, and jewelry. The person gained entrance through a window and exited through a side door, according to police. Two bicycles also were taken from the porch and damaged to a screen was reported.
•Burglary. Police said someone broke into a home in the 600 block of Pearson Street Friday while the owners were at a wedding reception. When they returned, they discovered a living room window open and various items missing, including a Playstation III, numerous gold rings, gold chains and a cross, and a garage door opener.
•Burglary. A Richelieu Avenue resident told police she returned home Oct. 8 and found her home had been broken into. A side door had been pushed in and several items were taken including a new LCD TV, some of her son’s clothing, jewelry, a Wii, and an Xbox 363 gaming system. Several rooms were ransacked, police noted.
•Criminal mischief. A man was seen attempting to break into the side door at 602 E. Long Ave. Friday and then running from the house. Police found no one inside the unoccupied structure.
•Burglary. Police said someone forced his way into a home in the 600 block of North Liberty Street on Oct. 8. The homeowner discovered the side door of his house had been forced open and his 32-inch high definition TV had been taken from the living room.
•Burglary. Police said someone forced his way into an apartment in the 1200 block of Highland Avenue on Oct. 8. The owner had returned home from work to find his door pried open and several items stolen, including a gold chain and cross, two gold rings, two pairs of Nike Air Jordan tennis shoes, a Dell laptop computer, Nintendo Wii game, Playstation 3 and games, and 45 DVDs.
STATE
•Criminal mischief. Patrice Lachelle Lewis-Newell, 37, of 318 Halco Drive, was cited for denting the car of Paul Shaftic, 67, of 201 Independence Lane, after an incident in the parking lot of Wal-Mart on Monday.
NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP
•Theft. Police are investigating the theft of a 40-by-30-inch storm grate from Graceland Cemetery Oct. 8 or Friday. The value is approximately $200. Anyone with information is asked to contact Neshannock police at (724) 656-9300.
