STATE
•Burglary. Cash and a ring were reported taken from a house in the 800 block of West Pearl Street before 4 a.m. Sunday.
•Theft by deception. Police said three counterfeit $50 bills were used at 11 a.m. Sunday at Wal-Mart.
•Burglary. Several items were taken from a garage in the 600 block of Barker Avenue, Union Township, between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
•Criminal mischief. Damage was reported to five putting greens at Del-Mar Golf Course, Wayne Township, between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Friday. Damage was estimated at $400.
•Attempted burglary. Police said someone tried to enter a garage in the 200 block of McCombs Circle at 4 a.m. Wednesday. An alarm caused him to flee.
•Theft. Items were reported taken from a Laurel Avenue home in Wayne Township between 8 a.m. July 6 and noon July 14.
NEW CASTLE
•Accident. Police said Mary Martin, 77, of 219 Winter Road, traveling on Clayton Street at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, hit the porch of a house at 404 N. Liberty St. Martin told police she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. No injuries were reported.
•Accident. On Mill Street. Police said Jason A. Culpepper, 21, of 1104 Agnew St., was northbound on Mill Street about 3 a.m. Thursday when his car collided with a car driven by Ralph Dovidio, 75, of 426 E. Division St. The impact pushed Dovidio’s car into a vehicle driven by Tanya L. Rubright, 31, of Harmony. Police said Dovidio was taken to Jameson Hospital and his vehicle was towed.
•Burglary. Police were told $50 had been taken from the cash register at Uneeda Tire, 1007 Moravia St., before 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said someone broke into the business. Officers, including a canine officer, checked the building, but no one was found.
•Hit-and-run. A car, parked in the 600 block of East Reynolds Street overnight Saturday, was sideswiped on the driver’s side.
•Criminal mischief to vehicle. A vehicle parked overnight Saturday behind a business in the 200 block of East Sheridan Avenue had been damaged. Officers said 90 percent of the car’s surface was scratched. Other damages include four flat tires, a broken windshield, two broken tail lights and the windshield wipers were torn off.
•Criminal mischief. Twenty-five landscaping lights were ripped from the ground at a house in the 200 block of East Fairmont Avenue between 11 p.m. Saturday and 9:45 a.m. Sunday.
