Police

STATE

•Burglary. Copper pipe was reported taken from a Bluff Street home in Union Township between noon June 29 and 2 p.m. Sunday.

•Accident. Police said John Kloss, 60, of Bowden Road, apparently lost control of his truck about 1 a.m. Sunday as he traveled on Route 18 near Johnson Road in Wilmington Township. Police said the truck traveled down an embankment. Kloss was treated at Jameson Hospital then released. Police said the vehicle sustained light damage.

NEW CASTLE

•Burglary. A cash box containing about $5 in change was reported taken from Wholesome Foods at 809 Sampson St. before 6 a.m. Thursday. Police also were told the intruder broke into the office and went through desk and file cabinet drawers.

•Theft. Three weed whackers and two leaf blowers were reported taken from the bed of a pickup truck parked in the 300 block of Sumner Avenue between 7:45 p.m. Thursday and 12:25 p.m. Friday.

•Criminal mischief. Police said a six-foot bench, tiki torches, a 100-pound statue, hanging flower baskets and rocks were thrown into a swimming pool in the 800 block of South Cascade Street between 10 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Officers were told something similar happened last year.

ELLWOOD CITY

•Theft. Police were told money was reported taken from a purse in the 100 block of Glen Avenue Wednesday.

•Theft. Police were told that gasoline was taken from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Line Avenue about 1:45 p.m. Thursday.

NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP

•Vehicle theft. Police said a silver, 1996 S-10 pickup truck was reported taken from the parking lot of Preston Motors, at 1500 Wilmington Road Saturday. Police said the truck is in poor condition and only drives in low gear and reverse. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Neshannock Township Police at (724) 656-9300.

•Burglary. Police were told a .9 mm semi-automatic hand gun was reported taken from a Cathcart Drive house between Thursday and Saturday.

•Theft. A girl’s 10-speed bicycle was reported taken overnight July 7 from the back porch of a Pulaski Road house.
