New Castle News

•Accident. Police said William R. Smith of 817 Taylor St., Girard, Ohio, pulled from the stop sign of Harbor-Edinburg and Skyhill roads Wednesday and struck a vehicle operated by Deborah Nocera of 183 Gary Lane, Edinburg. Both cars were disabled, police said. Nocera and a passenger were treated at Jameson Hospital and released.

Fire

NEW CASTLE

•Vehicle fire. The cause is unknown for a blaze, that destroyed a 1991 Chevy Ventura van owned by Joe Sobczak. Firefighters were called to the 900 block of Rose Avenue to extinguish the blaze, which caused the block garage to catch on fire. Damage to the garage was about $4,000.
