NEW CASTLE

•Attempted armed robbery. Police said a man approached a clerk at Dollar General, 1155 Butler Ave., at 5:50 p.m. Monday and demanded money. Police said the man, described as a white male with sandy blond, curly hair wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, told the clerk he had a weapon. Once the clerk began to scream, a manager approached the suspect who claimed he was trying to purchase items. The manager told the man to leave the store, which he did without further incident. Police will review the store’s surveillance video.

•Accident. Police said John Domenick of 10 S. Liberty St. was making a left turn onto Allen Street from East Washington Street at 2:03 p.m. Tuesday when he was reportedly struck from behind by a blue Dodge Durango, causing damage to his rear bumper. Leaving the scene, the Durango proceeded onto Spruce Street.

•Retail theft. Jessica Charlier of Ellwood City was charged with allegedly removing items valued at $31.36 from Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Union Township on May 21.

ELLWOOD CITY

•Harassment. Police issued citations to Ashley Hysell, 22, of 422 Glen Ave. and Antionette Carnell, 29, of 836 Lathrop St., New Castle, regarding an incident 1:15 p.m. June 2 in the 400 block of Loop Street. Hysell told police that Carnell had punched her in the face. Carnell advised police that Hysell attempted to run her over with her vehicle. Police reported that the women had been harassing each other.

•Endangering the welfare of children. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Lonnie McCune, 33, on charges of child endangerment. McCune, whose last known address was 316 Franklin Ave., was with three children on the Second Street overpass at 6:09 p.m. May 27. Police attempted to apprehend McCune on outstanding warrants. McCune reportedly left the children alone while fleeing the scene.

•False identification. Miguel Moreno, 26, of 616 Smiley St. reportedly provided false identification during a traffic stop at 1:02 p.m. May 25. Police charged passenger Danielle Marie Fazenbaker, 30, of Ellwood City with criminal conspiracy to provide false identification to law enforcement.

•Warrant. Police arrested Joshua Shurtz, 20, of 518 Smiley St. on an outstanding warrant. Shurtz was apprehended at 9:30 p.m. May 30 in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue.

STATE

•Access device fraud/theft. Someone obtained the bank account information of a Hunt Road, Scott Township, resident and made two transactions Monday in Veula, Mexico, totaling $673.09.

•Theft. Someone removed a plasma cutter valued at $1,999 from the property of Commance Manufacturing, Volant, between noon June 4 and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

•Criminal mischief. Police said Margaret Schooley and Jason Dick of Potter Run Road, Volant, were cited after damaging the vehicle of a Grove City woman.
