Police

ELLWOOD CITY

•Burglary. A Hillside Avenue resident reported that between 7 p.m. Saturday and 2:45 a.m. Sunday someone entered his home and removed DVDs and a PlayStation.

•Citations. Participating in the Pennsylvania Buckle Up and Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving campaigns, police operated enforcement details on Woodside Avenue (noon to 1 p.m. May 25 and 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday) and the 1000 block of Lawrence Avenue (3 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 24). Overall, 68 citations were issued.

•Simple assault and harassment. A male reported that a Martin Avenue man assaulted him June 2 while leaving the Saxon Club. Police said the alleged attacker will receive a summons through the mail.

NESHANNOCK

•Burglary. Answering an alarm call at 1:49 a.m. Saturday, police arrived at J&M Mini Mart, 2911 Mercer Road, where the front glass door window was shattered. Packs of cigarettes were taken. Police are asking that anyone with information on this incident to call (724) 656-9300.

NEW CASTLE

•Burglary. A brick was thrown through the glass door of a Moravia Street business between noon Sunday and 12:01 a.m. Monday. Desk drawers and counter doors were opened but nothing was reported missing. Damage to the door was estimated at $300.

•Burglary. Police said someone broke into Q’s Dairy, 1028 Croton Ave., about 2:30 a.m. Monday and stole 10 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes and an undetermined amount of cash from the register. A concrete block was thrown through the front door to gain entry, police said.

•Burglary. A case of beer, valued at $20, was reported taken from a residence in the 300 block of East Lincoln Avenue sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Police said someone threw a rock at the glass on the side door, valued at $300, to gain entry.

•Theft. Police said several items were taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 500 block of West Cherry Street sometime between 12:30 and 5:30 a.m. Monday. Items reported taken were an orange purse and an orange Samsung Propell cell phone, valued at $500; a Sony Cybershot digital camera, valued at $500; a Kodak EasyShare digital camera, valued at $300; a Sony video camera, valued at $300; a checkbook; credit cards; and driver’s license. Police said several neighbors also reported break-ins to their vehicles.

•Burglary. Police responded to an alarm at ABC Supply Co., 519 S. Mill St., at 7:25 a.m. Sunday and noticed the front door glass, valued at $300, shattered. Police said about $525 was stolen from the cash register.
