STATE
•Theft. Police said stainless steel sheeting was reported stolen from Western Pennsylvania Steel Fabricating Inc., at 550 Honeybee Lane between noon April 1 and 7 a.m. Wednesday and again before 6:15 p.m. Thursday.
•Accident. On Route 422. Police said Kerianne M. Mahoney, 21, of Lake Zurich, Ill., eastbound on Route 422 at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, apparently lost control of her Pontiac Grand AM when swerving to pass a slow-moving vehicle. Police said Mahoney’s car struck a bridge rail at the side of the highway. Officers said no injuries were reported, but Mahoney was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
ELLWOOD CITY
•Burglary. Police said someone tried to break into a home in the 1200 block of Crescent Avenue before 8:30 p.m. April 15.
SHENANGO TOWNSHIP
•Accident Police said Michele Crespo, 19, of 4146 Wiley Lane, was westbound on Union Valley Road about 2:35 p.m. Thursday when her car spun, went off the opposite side of the road and hit a tree. She was treated at Jameson Hospital and released.
NEW CASTLE
•Burglary. Police said copper pipe was taken from a vacant house in the 700 block of Cleveland Avenue between April 1 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Police were told no one had visited the house in the past two weeks.
•Burglary. Police said the dining room and the upstairs of a house in the 200 block of East Sheridan Avenue were ransacked between 1 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Sunday. It is unknown if anything was taken.
•Hit-and-run accident. Monica Querriera, 19, whose address is listed as both 121 Northview Ave. and 1019 N. Ashland Ave., told police she was northbound on Moravia Street at 2:45 a.m. Saturday when her car was hit by a white vehicle that could have been a Grand AM, a Grand Prix or a Cavalier. The vehicle, Querriera said, pulled from Fulton Street, collided with her car, then fled, crossing the Mahoning Avenue viaduct, headed toward Mahoningtown.
•Criminal mischief. Police received a report that the windshield of a Pontiac Grand Am was smashed between 1 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday while it was parked in the 300 block of South Liberty Street.
