NEW CASTLE
•Theft. A black, 12-foot trailer with a 550-gallon metal tank used for seal coating was taken from behind a house in the 100 block of East Wallace Avenue between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday.
•Burglary. Police said someone took copper pipe from houses at 418 Galbreath St., 716 Acorn St., 820 Harrison St. and 118 N. Ray St.
•Burglary. Police said $3,000 worth of jewelry was taken from a house in the 1500 block of Huron Avenue before 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The house was ransacked and drawers and papers scattered.
•Burglary. Police said an undetermined amount of beer was reported taken from Shad Hanna’s at 1046 Butler Ave. before 4 a.m. Monday. Beer bottles and cans were found in the parking lot.
STATE
•Accident. Union Township. Police said a pick-up truck driven by John R. Kiser Jr., 33, of Valencia, Pa., southbound on Wilson Road at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, apparently failed to yield to on-coming traffic at the intersection with West Washington Street, and pulled into the path of Gina M. Michaels, 24, of New Castle. Michaels, who was westbound, was attempting to make a left turn. Michaels and her passenger, Arlene J. Pennington, 47, of New Castle, were treated at Jameson Hospital then released. Police said Kiser was cited for three traffic violations. Police were assisted by the Union Township Volunteer Fire Department.
