STATE
•Theft. Police said Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials reported a wet/dry vacuum was missing from its garage an Route 551 in Mahoning Township, and that a 4-inch Grainger saw blade was missing from its Neshannock Township garage at Route 18 and Clen-Moore Avenue. The items were reported missing at 2 p.m. Friday.
•Accident. On Route 361, Beaver County. Police said Erin E. Houk, 21, of Ellwood City, northbound on Route 351 at 5 p.m. Friday, failed to maintain control of her car on a curve. The car crossed the southbound lane, left the road, traveled 80 feet, struck a utility pole and rolled onto its roof. Houk and her passenger, Mark Bacon, 28, of Ellwood City, were both treated at Ellwood City Hospital and released.
•Theft. Wheels were reported taken from Ace Auto Wrecking on Route 18, Taylor Township, between midnight Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday.
Fire
NEW CASTLE
•Stand-by. Firemen were called to stand by when Columbia Gas was called to 2003 Delaware Ave. at 7:42 p.m. Saturday when the house filled with natural gas after a supply line broke. Gas and electric service were cut off and firemen ventilated the house.
•Accident. The fire department was called at 5 p.m. Sunday for a two-car accident at East Washington and Pearson streets. No injuries were reported.
