STATE
•Accident. On Wampum-New Galilee Road at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Jimmy D. Sturgill, 41, of Wampum, was traveling south when his pickup truck crossed the northbound lane, left the road and struck a tree. No injuries were reported.
•Theft. Firearms taken from a Portersville residence during the course of the year.
NEW CASTLE
•Burglary. Approximately $40 removed from file cabinet at St. Joseph School on South Cascade Street between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
•Burglary. House in the 1000 block of Adams Street entered and ransacked between 6 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Unknown if anything taken.
•Accident. On Mill and Lutton streets at 12:15 p.m. Thursday. Police said Barbara A. Eckles of 413 Haus St. traveled south on Mill Street, failed to stop at a red light and collided with Desiree Thompson’s vehicle. Thompson of 417 Galbreath St. was westbound on Lutton Street. Police said no injuries were reported.
ELLWOOD CITY
•Burglary. Tools and a stove with a total value of $800 taken from a house in the 800 block of Park Avenue between March 9 and April 11.
•Theft. A wallet containing about $400 reported missing at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ellwood City Hospital. The wallet, left at the hospital’s vending machine area, was recovered in the hospital parking lot. Identification and credit cards remained.
