STATE
•Accident. Union Township. Police said vehicles driven by Shelby A. Leitem, 38, of Butler, Judith A. Adamczyk, 56, of New Castle and Jeffrey D. Hoy, 58, of New Wilmington collided just before noon Saturday when Leitem, eastbound on Route 224, failed to stop at a red traffic light as Adamczyk and Hoy turned from the westbound lane of Route 224 into Union Plaza. Police said the front end of Adamczyk’s Pacifica struck the mid-point of Leitem’s Silhouette. The impact deflected Leitem’s car causing it to strike the passenger side of Hoy’s Solara. The two vehicles traveled in a southeast direction leaving the highway and coming to rest on a traffic island at the plaza entrance. The Pacifica came to rest in the intersection. No injuries were reported.
ELLWOOD CITY
•Criminal mischief to vehicles. Police said several residents in the areas of Park Avenue, Franklin Avenue and Plymouth Lane reported damage to their vehicles, which occurred between the night of March 14 and Saturday. Damages included a possible bullet hole in the rear driver’s side door, a flat tire and damage to the driver’s side door and gas cap.
NEW CASTLE
•Burglary. Six crowbars were reported taken from New Castle Refractories. Police were told that someone entered the property at 915 Industrial St. between 3 and 6:30 a.m. March 13, cutting locks at the side gate, a side door and machine shop.
NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP
•Accident. Police said a vehicle driven by Alyssa R. Retort, 20, of 429 Jackson St., Edinburg, was westbound on Pulaski Road at 2:30 p.m. Monday, crossed the center line and the eastbound lane, leaft the road and struck a parked motor home in the Galbreath Motors lot at 3075 Pulaski Road. Retort was treated at Jameson Hospital then released. Police said the fire department assisted, removing the driver’s door of the vehicle.
