Less then two-thirds of voters cast ballot

NEW CASTLE — A little less than two-thirds of Lawrence County voters showed up at the polls in Tuesday’s general election.

The Lawrence County Board of Elections reported that 39,314 people, or 63.72 percent, of the 61,696 registered voters cast ballots.

In the 2008 presidential election, 42,816 voters, or 68.5 percent, cast ballots.
