Judge rejects request to release Jordan Brown

NEW CASTLE — Jordan Brown will remain in custody, at least for now.

Lawrence County Judge John Hodge ruled Tuesday afternoon against a defense request to release him pending proceedings on the juvenile allegations against the 14-year-old boy.Instead,

Hodge determined that a hearing to determine Jordan's responsibility in the 2009 shooting death of Kenzie Houk and her unborn son will be held April 10 in Lawrence County Court.

Jordan was 11 when he was first arrested as an adult in the case. Houk was the fiancee of Jordan's father, Christopher Brown
