NEW CASTLE — My husband Dave and I had a great mini-vacation in Pittsburgh at the beginning of this week.

We stopped by the Dor-Stop Restaurant in Dormont, Pa., which is a small diner known for its awesome hotcakes. It was even featured on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives."

The restaurant is only open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and thus, was pretty packed. Even so, we only waited about 10 minutes for a table.

The hotcakes at the Dor-Stop come in a variety of flavors: Chocolate Chip Banana, Apple Walnut, Banana Oatmeal, Pumpkin and Oatmeal Raisin, just to name a few. I ordered the Banana Oatmeal hotcakes and they were delicious! The three (size of my plate) hotcakes practically melted in my mouth. Each hotcake had large slices of banana and a warm, gushy oatmeal center. The whole deal was topped with powdered sugar and melted butter. I didn't even need maple syrup.

But don't just take my word on how great these hotcakes tasted, look at the reviews on Of the 763 people who voted, 89 percent said they liked the restaurant.

The hotcakes at the Dor-Stop, though, were not the only hotcakes I had this week.

I finally made Carrots 'N' Cake's Two-Ingredient Pancake.

If you don't remember, the Two-Ingredient Pancake is made with one banana and one egg. If you follow Tina's tips in her post, the pancake is so easy to make. Mine came out perfect on my first attempt! I was quite excited. I topped my pancake with crunchy peanut butter.

Check out the photo of my pancake. Winslow, my papillon, really wanted a bite!

I think this pancake will definitely be one of my future go-to breakfasts.
