Enon Valley’s neighborhood watch group will meet tomorrow in Enon Valley. The session will begin at 7 p.m. at the Enon Valley Fire Hall. State Rep. Jaret Gibbons will be the guest speaker.

Battery B monument replacement set
A shiny new monument, commemorating the contribution of Cooper’s Battery B at Gettysburg, will be rededicated next month. Unfortunately, three faces of the eight-sided marble capstone will be left blank.
Concert to benefit Laurel foundation
The Laurel Community Foundation is sponsoring fundraising concert Saturday, Phase IV, a 1980s cover band from the Pittsburgh area, will perform at St. John’s Hall. The group, which plays at Jergel’s in Wexford and North Park Lounge in Cranberry, performs selections from John Mellencamp, Men at Work, Sublime Poison, Def Leppard, Beastie Boys, Pearl Jam and Paul Simon, along with ’80s, ’70s and old-fashioned rock-and-roll mixed in.
PSU to host program on Amish
Penn State Shenango will host a free program about the Amish and Mennonites Tuesday. The lecture, by Dr. William McGuigan, associate professor of human development and family studies, will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 105 of Sharon Hall.
Schedule announced for Light Up Night
New Castle’s annual Light Up Night has been set for Nov. 14. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with entertainment and vendors opening.
Stand down to honor homeless veterans
Lawrence County’s third annual homeless veterans stand down and tribute to the 9/11 fallen has been scheduled. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at Cascade Park on East Washington Street.
