NEW CASTLE —
Each year, more than 5 million people learn how to save a life by taking American Red Cross preparedness courses.
This month, the organization is encouraging Lawrence County to join these growing ranks by taking a class.
Red Cross courses aim to teach people how to prevent and respond in life-threatening emergencies, whether at the workplace or in the home.
The following classes will be offered in Lawrence County Saturday. The courses will be at the Red Cross office, 222 N. Mercer St.:
•Adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fee is $110.
•CPR/AED — 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fee is $70.
In addition, businesses, organizations and community groups can register for private instruction from the Red Cross.
