NEW CASTLE —
Local farmers and vegetable growers are being encouraged to attend pesticide update meetings.
The sessions will run from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and 9 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Western Reserve Farm Cooperative, 3992 Route 208, east of New Wilmington.
The meetings will address fall burndown and residual weed control programs, strategies for controlling herbicide-resistant weeds with a focus on marestall and new crop protection products.
Each session will qualify for two credits of core and three credits of category toward updating a restricted use pesticide license.
