NEW CASTLE — The 23rd annual Lawrence County Polish Day will be Sept. 22 at Cascade Park.

Doors at the dance pavilion — and the kitchen — open at noon. Ethnic food will be provided by Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church. Crafts and ethnic items also will be available.

Dancing to Polka Family Band and Badinov begins at 1 p.m. and will continue through 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $12, but those age 16 and younger are admitted free.

Voluntary donations of cash, children’s items including personal hygiene items, school supplies and winter clothing will be accepted at the door for the “Morning Star” orphanage of Bardo, Poland.

The event is sponsored by the American Polish Central Committee. Proceeds benefit the organization’s scholarship fund and other committee activities. To date, $64,000 has been awarded to college-bound students from Lawrence County schools.

The American Polish Central Committee promotes ethnic pride and education in the community.
