Master gardeners hosting symposium

NEW CASTLE — The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County will present their annual gardening symposium April 5.

The program — “You Asked For It!” — will run from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ben Franklin Early Learning Center, 815 Cunningham Ave.

Topics to be covered are: “Grasses in your Landscape” by Brandon and Connie Ratvasky, “Small Trees for Western Pennsylvania Landscapes” by Eric Oesterling, “Once Upon a Butterfly” by Jodi Hopper and Joelene Meiners and “Pruning Small Fruit Trees” by Steve Johnston.

The cost to attend is $35 per person, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch and a workshop packet.

Pre-registration is required by April 2.
