NEW CASTLE —
U.S. SARR Corps will conduct a program for those interested in becoming trained volunteers to help locating missing people.
The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Koppel Fire Department on Fifth Avenue.
SARR stands for search, rescue and recovery response — which is what the organization aims to provide.
The group’s mission is to “provide resolution for families and communities who have experienced an unaccounted for or missing person event” whether one individual or multiple people as a result of a disaster.
The unit has positions open to new members because of its current expansion in advanced methods.
The regional headquarters is in Beaver Falls and the group operates throughout the tri-state region and beyond.
The unit has been in existence for 40 years and continues to research new and more efficient tactics for locating missing persons in all categories especially those who are autistic or suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, abducted children and other disappearances.
