NEW CASTLE —
New Castle residents have the opportunity to reap insights from some of the top leadership experts in the country.
And they don’t even have to leave town to do it.
Although the 14th annual Chick-fil-A Leadercast — a one-day leadership development conference — will take place May 10 in Atlanta, the event also will be simulcast to hundreds of sites around the nation. That includes First Alliance Church at 111 Mission Meade Drive.
Last year, more than 100,000 people from 14 countries took part in the Chick-fil-A Leadercast. This is the first year that the event is available locally.
“It is one of the most exciting leadership events I have attended,” said John Martin, president of New Wilmington-based Eagle Training and Development. “But it goes beyond that. I think this conference, although focused on leadership, transcends the topic and applies to many facets of our life.
“If you want to make an impact in your business, community or family, this is a must-attend conference.”
Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the conference starts at 9. Speakers include: Jack Welch, former chairman and chief executive officer of General Electric; best-selling leadership author and communicator Andy Stanley; Mike Krzyzewski, head basketball coach for Duke University and Team USA; John Maxwell, best-selling author and leadership expert; Navy SEAL and star of the 2012 film “Act of Valor” Lt. Cmdr. Rorke Denver; 2012 London Olympics track and field gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross; David Allen, best-selling author of “Getting Things Done” and productivity expert; and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who appears via an exclusive Simply Lead video interview.
To mark the simulcast’s first stop in New Castle, First Alliance is partnering with the City Rescue Mission, and a portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will go to help local residents in need.
In addition, a limited number of scholarships have been allotted for students in Lawrence County schools to attend the event at no cost. Contact Philip Harrison at First Alliance — (724) 654-4512 or www.1stalliance.org — for more information.
Tickets also are available online at www.chick-fil-aleadercast.com/location/firstalliancechurch. Early bird admission of $69 and a group rate of $65 for five or more are available until April. 30. After that, general admission is $79.
Sessions are scheduled for 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. There are breaks at 10:30 a.m. (coffee, juice, pastries) and 2:45 p.m. (snacks, beverages) and a lunch at 12:15 p.m. during which attendees can meet and greet local event sponsors. Door prizes will be awarded during the afternoon break.
Local sponsors include Carbis Walker, LLC; R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.; Eagle Training and Development; Family Wealth Management Group; Hess Printing; New Castle Country Club; Princeton Author Repair; and W. Rick’s Taproom and Grill.
