IU IV offers GED prep courses

NEW CASTLE — The Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV will offer adult basic education and GED preparation courses starting next week.

The classes run from 5 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at the Sharon Middle/High School, 1129 E. State St. They will begin Tuesday and are scheduled to continue through May 29.

Preregistration is not required. Walk-in students are encouraged to attend. Classes and materials are available to area residents free of charge.

The courses will focus on GED preparation, pre-employment testing and basic skills that increase job skills.

Teachers are state-certified and the curriculum is targeted to teach skills that adults need to be successful in the 21st century workforce.
