Veterans health fair set at courthouse

NEW CASTLE — A veterans health fair has been scheduled for Friday.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the lower level of the Lawrence County courthouse.

Veterans Administration eligibility will be determined and enrollment done on site for those who have their discharge papers with them.

In addition, health screenings will be available, including blood pressure, diabetes blood sugar, body mass index and bone density.

Those attending can get program information for behavioral health care, Agent Orange, female veterans, health promotion and disease prevention, returning service members eligibility, Vietnam veterans eligibility, minority veterans, the VA’s weight management initiative MOVE, online prescription refills via My HealtheVet, the suicide prevention lifeline, post-traumatic stress disorder, military sexual trauma, veterans justice outreach and homelessness.

The health fair is open to any veteran, whether he or she served in war or peacetime.
