Wanna watch the Bucs’ wild-card game with Corey?

NEW CASTLE — Do you bleed black and gold?

Do you consider Cutch, The Shark and El Toro to be part of your extended family?

Do you have a Jolly Roger that you raise on a regular basis?

Do the words “Francisco Cabrera” still give you the creeps?

If you answered yes to those questions, can we watch Tuesday night’s wild-card playoff game with you?

Sportswriter Corey J. Corbin is looking to hang with a few diehard fans who can provide analysis of the Pirates’ first playoff appearance in 21 years.

To join in the fun, all you need to do is tell us in 100 words or fewer why you are Lawrence County’s biggest Pirates fan. If you are selected, Corey will invite you to join him at the Crane Room on Tuesday night to watch all the exciting action. Your comments and critique of the game will appear in the New Castle News on Wednesday.

So if you’re selected, feel free to take your glove, your favorite catch phrases and your special good-luck charms as the Bucs battle the Reds. You’ll also want to take your appetite, since Crane Room general manager Greg Measel will provide the munchies to our special guests.

Sound like a plan?

Simply e-mail sports editor Kayleen Cubbal at by noon Monday and let her know why you’re a Pirates Super Fan. Please include your name and your phone number so we can contact you.

We look forward to reading your stories.

Oh, and one more thing.

Let’s go, Bucs!
