Master gardener training planned

NEW CASTLE — Penn State Extension is planning a master gardener training session for October.

The program’s purpose is two-fold. One is to provide the opportunity to learn more about gardening. The other is to better serve the county by having skilled gardeners available to teach those who are less experienced.

Weekly three-hour classes will begin Oct. 3 and run through Feb. 27.

ln return for the course, participants are asked to volunteer their time with the Penn State Extension’s home horticulture program.

Application forms are available at the extension office in the courthouse, by calling (724) 654-83780 or emailing sle13@psu.edu.

Completed applications must be returned to the extension office by Tuesday.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 fell from the sky in Donetsk, Ukraine, on Thursday, killing all 298 people aboard. Many are speculating that Russian rebels (supported by Vladimir Putin) are responsible for downing the aircraft. What do you think?

Yes. All evidence points that way.
No. Everyone is so quick to point fingers, but there's not enough evidence to support claims of Russian guilt.
I'm not sure. I'll just wait until the investigation is over to make up my mind.
What is up with these Malaysian Airlines planes? I know one airline I won't be flying any time soon...
