Seedling, plant sales to begin

NEW CASTLE — The Lawrence County Conservation District’s is accepting orders for its annual tree seedling and plant sale.

This year’s sale includes a variety of evergreens, including hemlock, spruce, pine, fir and arborvitae, as well as hardwoods — red oak, black cherry, sugar maple, and white flowering dogwood.

 Plants for sale include blueberry bushes, elderberries, grapes, and ever-bearing strawberries.

The deadline to order is April 4.  Orders must be pre-paid and must be picked up at the county warehouse near the courthouse on April 26.

Order forms are available on the Lawrence County Conservation District web page at www.lawrencecd.org, or  by calling the district’s office at (724) 652-4512.
