Blood bank seeks donors to replenish low supply

NEW CASTLE — The Central Blood Bank is reporting a dangerously low blood supply, resulting from the extreme weather.

Officials noted Jameson Health System patients use nearly 300 units of blood each month.

In order to replenish the supply, the Central Blood Bank is asking community members to donate on Sunday.

The collection will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God, 2021 Pulaski Road.

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments can be made by calling (724) 658-5611 or logging on to and using the group code G0120025.
