NEW CASTLE —
Agricultural issues will be discussed at a dinner meeting of the League of Women Voters of Lawrence County Tuesday.
Dinner will be Dutch treat and will begin at 6 p.m. at Farone Brothers Restaurant on Wilmington Road.
The national League of Women Voters is conducting a new study of agriculture.
Nancy Bergey will make the presentation at Tuesday’s meeting, focusing on genetic modification, herbicides, pesticides, water pollution, antibiotics in livestock, accurate food labeling, subsidies and regulations.
This will be the first of two programs on agriculture. The second will be March 18.
Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public.
